Graphic Organizer

 

Purpose of Strategy

 

Use graphic organizer note-taking strategy to guide students in taking notes, improve students’ ability to create accurate and succinct notes, and develop conceptual understanding of key criteria in text or lecture.

 

Rationale of Lesson

 

Students will examine the practices and beliefs of Confucianism, Legalism, and Taoism to define ‘philosophy’ and develop their understanding of the goals of Confucianism, Legalism, and Taoism in building institutions and shaping society.

Materials

  • time framework poster (at least one)
  • note-taking graphic organizer on a 8” x 11” piece of paper
  • overhead projector or whiteboard
  • pencils and or pens
  • access to library and or Internet via computers
  • social studies binders
