Purpose of Strategy/Approach

Objectively determine the impact of a behavior and evaluate the effects of the interventions. Data is the first step to beginning the Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) process. Data is collected to determine a baseline before an intervention is identified and implemented. Data collection is used during the implementation of the intervention to measure the effectiveness of the intervention by comparing baseline data and intervention data.

Rationale of Lesson

Understanding of this topic is essential and fundamental to understanding how to measure the impact of students' behaviors and the effectiveness of a behavior intervention, as well as to identify any modifications or changes to the intervention to better support the students.
